Chair - I took this a few years back, on Dupont Street near Dovercourt Road, just around the corner from my old house. The chair disappeared soon after. This photo's Flickr Page.
Spotlights - I wish I had a tripod with me, because this image is a bit grainy. This was taken near Varisty Arena, looking south. This photo's Flickr Page.
Tipi #5 - My last Tipi photo, from some sort of festival in Dufferin Grove Park a couple of years ago. There are two larger versions on Flickr. This photo's Flickr Page.
Blogger has been a real pain recently. I keep getting java errors when I attempt to post. It's driving me mad.
Path - Yeah, I know, I have another photo from High Park called path, but titles have never been my strength. Blogger refused to let me post earlier today. I kept getting a strange error message. This photo's Flickr Page.
Penguins are Cool - The little penguin in the right looks angry. I wish I knew why. This is another photo from Croft Street, Toronto. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Cyan - What better subject for a cyanotype than the cyan sky? I used the new beta of Adobe Lightroom to make this cyanotype. The new beta (4.1) is much better than the previous, but there are still things I hate about it. This photo's Flickr Page.
Grue - This is a crane currently being used to construct the Metropolis Centre. In the foreground is part of Heaslip House, the home of the The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Ménage à Cranes - I seem to like taking photographs of this place, partly because it is right outside my office window. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Tree - I revisited an earlier photo (árbol oscuro) and came up with this treatment. I am not sure if it is good, but I enjoyed the process of changing the hue to something interesting. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
<< | home | >> << | home | >> Traffic - This was snapped on Dundas Street west around the same time as another photo, called Miasma. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Roncesvalles at King, Queen, and the Queensway - This photo was taken where Roncesvalles meets Queen Street to the east, the Queensway to the west, and King Street to the south. Streetcars require electricity; hence, the tangle of overhead wires. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Closed - The Metro Theatre closed a while back. It was the last adult cinema in Toronto. Apparently, it used to be a really nice theatre. I have never been inside, so I can't say if that is true. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Laundromat - I took through glass this while walking down Roncesvalles at night. It's not that thrilling, but I really like using the 50mm f1.8 II lens. This was a raw image processed using Digital Photo Professional and then The Gimp. This photo's Flickr Page.
<< | home | >> << | home | >> Down the Line - This is colour view of the tracks just north of Dupont Street near Bartlett Avenue in Toronto. This photo's Flickr Page.
UC under the Storm Clouds - This is another phot of UC at the University of Toronto. It was taken at the same time as this one. I haven't had much time to play with photos recently, and so I forgot to straighten this one. It is ever so slightly crooked. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
After the Rain - I have been trying to figure out the best way to get a sepia tone to an image. I am not sure if I like the results using Adobe Lightroom. I have also used Digital Photo Professional and ArcSoft's Photo Studio for this one. This is the back of a building south of Kensington, in China town. Too bad the sky was so boring that day. This photo's Flickr Page.
Siren - I just managed to get my camera ready in time to catch the fire truck speeding by me on Bloor Street. I choose a slowish shutter speed and tried to pan. It is a little dark, but OK, I think. This photo's Flickr Page.
Headless Symmetry - This is the window at Club Monaco in the Toronto Eaton Centre, a mall that no longer has an Eaton's in it. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Stormy - This is a part of Bloor Street, across from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I really thought the rain was coming, but it didn't. The good news is that there was amazing diffuse light. This photo's Flickr Page.
<< | home | >> << | home | >> Soccer - Under stormy skies, some students were playing soccer on front campus at the University of Toronto. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Walking on Bloor - I took this either before or after shooting the mannequins at La Senza. I don't know the person in the photo. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Lane - This is the 200th photo I have posted to this blog since March 9th, 2006. I missed a few days when I was traveling, sadly. This is a laneway south of Bloor Street between Ossington and Concord Avenue in Toronto. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
<< | home | >> << | home | >> Thong - I couldn't resist posting another mannequin photo. This one is also from La Senza on Bloor Street. On Flickr, I received some comments from James, who has tons of mannequin images. If you are interested, try this link. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments). You can see two larger versions of this photo on Flickr: here and here.
Mannequins Don't Sleep - La Senza on Bloor Street at night. I took several shots of this window, and I thin thisone, with the mild sepia treatment, works the best. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments) You can see two larger sizes on Flickr: here and here.
Dark Skies - I didn't get a chance to post a photo yesterday :-( A stormy-looking sky above University College at the University of Toronto. I thought I was going to get rained on, but it passed over. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
