Room - A big room at UC, at the University of Toronto. It was difficult to get a really good photo of this space. I may have to try again. This photo's Flickr Page.
Connected - This is an old and kind of strange bridge connecting the Mining Building at the University of Toronto to whatever that building is behind it. I have no other information about the bridge and don't know if it is still used. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Dundas West - Here is a view of Dundas Street West at night, obviously. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Here are a few impromptu observations about Flickr, as a place for exchanging comments on photos. While I have received quality feedback on some photos, the experience has been marred by pointless and really idiotic comments. One person didn't like a photo of mine because she doesn't like black and white photography! I have read her similar comments on other B&W photos. This is mind-boggling. Another person argued that a photo mine was not original, a criticism that holds little weight with me because no one can know what is or is not truly original. I am sure that those people who photograph flowers or those that take portraits would be unimpressed if they were told that their photo (perhaps of a rose) was not original. Imagine saying, "sorry, that kind of portrait has already been done." Maybe I'll say more on this later.
<< | home | >> << | home | >> Chapel - Looking back at the entrance to the Trinity College Chapel at the University of Toronto. This is a really lovely chapel, but not lovely enough to make me want to attend any kind of service. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
<< | home | >> << | home | >> Level Crossing - Just north of Dupont Street and Bartlett Avenue, Toronto. I waited for a train, but none came. This photo's Flickr Page.
Transparent - For some reason, when I titled this photo, I thought that the term "transparent" could describe a transgendered parent. It was late when I thought of the title, so that might explain it. This is an image of a really run-down building on the north east corner of Dupont Street and Dovercourt Road. This photo makes the building look much nicer than it is. I really like that it has glass on three sides, allowing one to see through the building. Somehow, the reflection makes it appear as if the clouds are floating in the building, which I quite like. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Parallel - These are the tracks that run along Dupont Street, north of the Annex in Toronto. I often see Union Pacific cars on these tracks. I think Go Transit uses these tracks too. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Pews - Taken in the Anglican chapel at Trinity College, University of Toronto. Apparently, the chapel is constructed in the "modified perpendicular Gothic style." This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Convocation Hall 2 - My M.L.S. degree was conferred in this building. Convacation Hall has an amazing atmosphere inside. It's old and beautiful and, as I said when I posted my last photo of this building, locked. I couldn't get inside. This photo's Flickr Page.
Old & New - Clearly, I like the Terrence Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research at the University of Toronto. You can see previous photos of this building here and here. The building is unique inside, too. If you have the chance, you should walk in and have a look around. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Untitled - I photographed this rather interesting piece of street art - really, alley art - in a lane near Queen and Ossington. I was stumped for a title, so I took the easy way out. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Among the Trees - Camera - Nikon FM, 50mm F1.8 lens; Film - Kodak HEI High Speed Infrared Film; Developer- Dektol. Yet another infrared tree photo from High Park, Toronto. This photo's Flickr Page.
Red & Blue - This is another view if the new pharmacy building at the University of Toronto. The other two are here and here. I was amused to see a woman taking photos of this building with a camera phone. I posted a smaller version of this so you wont have to scroll. I like the impact of larger photos, but maybe scrolling is irritating? I am not sure. You can see larger versions on Flickr. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Reflexion - I still have more photos from my trip to the Salmon River. This was converted to B&W using The Gimp, which I have mentioned before. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
The Fridge - This was a photo I took as part of a photography course. Camera - Nikon FM with 50mm f1.8 lens; Lighting - tungsten; Film - Kodak Professional Portra 100T. I printed this on RC paper. Yup, it's the inside of my fridge. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Dreamier - This is another photo from the Leslie Street Spit from a few years back. It is similar to yesterday's photo, with some differences in processing. I am not sure which I like better. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Dreamy - This was taken a few years back with my old, and now broken, Minolta XG-M. The XG-M was my first SLR and I used it for years with good results. I photographed these trees in Tommy Thompson Park, at the end of the Leslie Street Spit, in Toronto. The subject of the photograph is trees, in case you are wondering. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Today is the anniversary of 9/11, as I am sure you know. You might already know about the September 11 Digital Archive. There is a large collection of photographs, among other things.
Metropolis #3 - This is another view of the monstrosity that is going up at Yonge & Dundas. It is years overdue. I've been watching the progress from my office window as it comes closer and closer. It is huge. This photo's Flickr Page.
A Bend in the River - Back to the Salmon River, near Arden, Ontario. I used beta version 3 of Adobe Lightroom to develop this with a sepia tint. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
The Green Room - This is the entrance to the Green Room. It used to be a secret, but now everybody knows about it. It's cool. If you haven't been, you should go. This photo's Flickr Page with comments).
Bathurst & Queen (crooked) - Taken at Bathurst & Queen Streets. The photo was a little crooked and I forgot to straighten it. Oh well. This photo's Flickr Page.
Stacked - Taken on the north side of the Bahen Centre for Information Technology at the University of Toronto. I dedicate this photo to a guy who was walking past me with his two friends just as I depressed the shutter. He said: "That's not a shot," rather disdainfully and derisively. This one's for you.
