Both Sides of the Street - Taken in downtown Toronto with a Nikon FM, 50mm f1.8 lens, and Elite Chrome slide film. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Big Drill - At a construction site on Dundas Street. This is another digital colour photo that I liked better in black and white. I got a flat tire on my bike just after I took this photo. This photo's Flickr Page. Technorati Tags: Toronto, drill, construction, sky, clouds, Dundas Street
Peonies - I was amazed to discover that two Flickrites chose this photo as a favourite after I uploaded it to Flickr. I guess you can never tell. It was taken in my old backyard in Toronto. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Tipi (or teepee or tepee)- Taken at a native festival in Dufferin Grove Park in Toronto. I have to say that I got lucky with this one. Camera: Nikon FM; 50mm lens, Kodak Elite Chrome. I scanned this on a Nikon slide scanner. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Distortion - This image was taken with a Nikon FM and Kodak Elite Chrome. I scanned the slide and converted it to black and white. This is a reflection of the Stewart building in the Hydro Building, home to Ontario Power Generation. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
I met up with a bunch of photobloggers last night at the Gladstone Hotel. Perhaps if my photos are decent, I will post a few.
Fallen - Another in a long series of black & white infrared photographs from High Park, Toronto. These were all taken with my Nikon FM and a red filter. Camera: Nikon FM, 50mm F1.8 lens. Film: Kodak HEI High Speed Infrared Film. Developer: Dektol. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Fence - From the very first roll of film put through my Holga, before I had removed the 6x4.5 mask. This was taken eight, or so, years ago in my old backyard. This photo's Flickr Page.
Apparition - I posted a similar photo in B & W a while back, but I think I like colour better. Taken in a laneway in Toronto's Chinatown. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Knoop - A very scary clown, made more sinister by uplighting. Camera: Nikon FM; 50mm f1.8 lens Lighting: Tungsten Film: Kodak Professional Portra 100T. I printed this on RC paper. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Two Pigeons - On Dovercourt Road, just north of Bloor Street. I have no idea what this building is, or was, but it is in a serious state of decay. This photo's Flickr Page.
Bubble - This is that plastic or glass cover to the stairs leading down to the Queen's Park subway station at University & College, Toronto. What else can I say? I am not sure I like this photo. It was taken with a Nikon FM. I developed the film in Dektol and printed in on RC paper. I'd tell you what the film was, but I'd have to dig out the negatives or the contact sheet and they are at the back of a closet. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Up - I dug deep into the archives for this one. It was taken about 11 years ago, somewhere in the Financial District, Toronto. I can't really remember where. I printed this at Hart House, University of Toronto, when I was a member of the Hart House Camera Club. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
prev | home | next prev | home | next Gator - On Claremont, just off Queen West, Toronto. Thanks Allán for reminding me which street it was. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
Iron - I posted this on my other blog about one year ago. I love the colours. Of course, this is a toy, and despite how hard my daughter tried, she was never able to get any creases out. I had high hopes.
Camera: Nikon FM; 50mm f1.8 lens Lighting: Tungsten Film: Kodak Professional Portra 100T. I printed this on RC paper. This photo's Flickr Page (with comments).
On Saturday, I attended Rannie Turingan's opening at Le Petite Dejeuner of Toronto Squared. Of course, I did now know anyone there, and only managed to speak with Rannie for a few seconds, since others were waiting. The photos will be on the walls until June 6th, so if you are in that neighbourhood, stop in and have a look. It is a very nice collection of images.
